Nov 16, 2020. #8. 038 was my first exposure to Stihl. Paid $100 for it 20 years ago, since then it's gotten clutch springs and crank seals. Wouldn't sell/trade that saw for anything. I can keep it on the shelf for months, no stabilizer or anything, it always fires up. Reliable as rust.

#1 Anyone have any idea if there are any differences between these cases? I am under the impression that the 038av and supers are the same and the magnum has a different cylinder bolt pattern? Regarding the variations of the 038 I own 2 mags and one av.I don't ever recall seeing a super ,ever .The av and one of the mags are juiced up and they do very well That model is one of my favorites in the Stihl line up .Everybody has a favorite no matter what brand they have so it's just talk .
